FRIDGES & FREEZERS · JOHANNESBURG REPAIR HELP

Fridge making a new noise?

A new clicking, buzzing, scraping or rattling sound is a useful symptom, but the sound alone does not identify a replacement part.

Start with the symptoms.

Try to describe whether the noise is inside a compartment, near the rear or associated with opening a door. A short recording can be more useful than calling every sound a compressor failure.

What to send with your enquiry.

Send the model and a recording made from a safe position. Include whether the fridge is still cooling, whether the sound is continuous and when you first noticed it.

Add your suburb or estate, who can meet the technician and whether the appliance is fitted or freestanding. If a model label is hidden, describe the appliance rather than moving it yourself.

A safe boundary.

Do not remove rear covers, reach near moving parts or move the fridge while it is operating.

What the assessment should clarify.

An error code or symptom points the conversation in a useful direction, but it does not establish the faulty part. The assessment should explain what work is recommended and whether components are available for the actual model.

Confirm the assessment or call-out charge before booking. Discuss the repair quote, any parts order, further visit and applicable cover before approving work. Send an email enquiry or a WhatsApp message through this website; the team confirms appointments directly.

Repair or replace?

Compare the proposed work with the appliance’s overall condition and the cost of a suitable replacement. Include delivery and fitting in that comparison. For a relatively small fault, an assessment may reveal a practical repair; extensive damage or unavailable parts can change the decision.
